I’ve never heard anyone try to use baseball to make biblical references before and I’m not sure I’m really a fan of it. But Nat King Cole gave it a try in 1961, and this was the result. Some of the phrases admittedly are pretty clever, and if baseball was a topic covered in church, I’d probably be a more frequent attendee.
