Running is definitely one of the best sports any Filipino can engage into. It is inexpensive and people will be able to see the results of architectural design services in the Philippines. Running has a lot of health benefits: it helps you lose weight, strengthens the muscles and joints and relieves stress at the same time. However, you cannot deny that running in the same area over and over again can be tiresome. Here are 5 places that are perfect for running based on their walkability and accessibility:

1. Circuit Makati
Location: Hippodromo Street and A.P. Reyes Avenue, Barangay Carmona, Makati City (formerly the Sta. Ana Race Track)
This budding entertainment and leisure village has already hosted sold-out concerts and music festivals, including Wanderland, which is the Philippine version of Coachella. If the place is unused, people are free to do a long run in this 21-hectare property, which is right by the Pasig River. The best time to jog here is during the late afternoon when the cool breeze is present and the sunset emphasizes the view of the Makati Business District skyline.

2. Quezon Memorial Circle
Located: Elliptical Rod, Diliman, Quezon City
The heart of Quezon City is considered as a runner’s haven. Joggers can start by the monument of then-President Manuel L. Quezon. The outer perimeter, which is about 1.8 kilometers, will treat the runner to longer runs towards UP Diliman, Commonwealth, and Katipunan. Park-goers also flock this area for various sports like badminton and aerobics. It is perfect for solo exercises or quality exercise time with family and friends.

3. Greenhills Shopping Compound
Location: Greenhills Shopping Center, San Juan
Before the mall opens and shoppers flock the area, go jog at the Greenhills Shopping Compound. The entire block is not too busy during the early hours of morning. After running or jogging, people are welcome to join the aerobics class that happens in the open parking lot. Since it is also a mall, people can stop for a light breakfast after their exercise before going home.

4. Filinvest City
Location: Filinvest City, Alabang, Muntinlupa City
If going through the concrete jungle known as Metro Manila is not your thing, head over to Alabang and go jogging at Filinvest City. Feel free to take in the fresh air and let the large trees provide you with shade as you cool down from your run. The path is mostly made up of dirt and soft grass so you will be able to sit without worrying of hurting your skin. The place is also great for biking and, if you are up for it, you can bring a buddy or even your dog along for a better exercise experience!

5. Ayala Triangle Gardens
Location: Ayala Avenue and Paseo De Roxas Streets, Makati City
Right in the middle of the Makati business district is the urban haven called Ayala Triangle Gardens. For people who are working within the area, this place is perfect for a quick jog before or after office hours. The loop is only 1.2 kilometers but the landscape, trees, public art, and friendly people will make your run visually appealing.
