New Year's Day Face

By Lotionsandpotions @LotionNPotion
This is my New Year's Day make up for disguising the fact that I had a little too much vino last! I don't know about you, but I don't think 'hungover' is a particularly attractive way to go.
Fresh faced, with a little highlighting help is the way I'm going to go to disguise under eye circles and a lack of sleep.

The very first step was to use my Vitamin E Illuminating Moisture Cream from The Body Shop to give my skin a bit of a glow and a quick sweep of Simple Revitalising Eye Roller for a soothing, cooling effect.
Next I used Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser, buffed in with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush - not too heavy, but with enough coverage to perk up my pale skin. I have the oil free version, as I don't want any extra shine on my face unless I'm putting it there deliberately. This also has SPF 20, so it covers all bases.
Dark circles and blemishes were swiftly covered with a layer of By Terry Touché Veloutée, the light reflecting particles and plumping benefits are just what I needed today!
A few dabs of Jemma Kidd All Over Radiance Creme (now discontinued) along the tops of my cheekbones, in the inner corner of my eyes, across the bridge of my nose and very lightly pressed onto the cupid's bow. Normally this would be far too much for me, what with my hatred of looking 'dewy', but some highlighting was needed today and a matte look would have ended up looking dull. This was swiftly followed by The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Dome in Crazy for Coral (limited edition, now unavailable), which I also buffed in to ensure it was blended well. This gave a healthier feel, without being too heavy and, as its a cream blush, didn't look cakey.
I kept my eyes really simple, with a little neutral eyeshadow from my MUA Undressed Palette.

I used the shade on the top row, third from the left, all over the lid using another Real Techniques brush. Then curled my lashes to open up my eyes with my Tweezerman lash curler (travel size). A couple of coats of Clinique High Impact mascara and some Rimmel Scandal Eyes eyeliner in nude along the bottom waterline also helped!
I've included another palette in the top picture, but I only used a tiny bit of it for filling in my eyebrows:

The middle shade matches pretty well and that is the only thing I've ever used from this palette, which came in a Joliebox (I think!).
For my lips, I used a little Benetint Lip Balm from Benefit.
A final, very light dusting of Rimmel Clear Complexion translucent powder to set everything and a spritz of Make Up Forever Mist & Fix to finish.
My head may be a little fragile, but at least you can't tell!
