JOGGING NEWS - Botley to Headington to Botley - Third Time Lucky

sweaty man.

today in Oxford, it was a clear blue sky; temperature 22º and what does clever clogs here decide to do?

The TEN MILES jog from Harcourt hill Botley round Headington hill in East Oxford and back up to Harcourt hill Botley. I'd attempted this 'jog' twice before and twice I've come a cropper at just after the Headington shops heading back past the Orthopaedic Hospital (ironically). Not cramp as such, but some sort of tendonitis causing extreme pain in the right outer knee. I'd ended up hobbling home, in just over two hours.

Not today, pal.

One wonders if the month of daily 7 a.m. jogs I did at altitude in France for my summer vacation writing the new novel Tandem had anything to do with my seemingly-improved general fitness. One wonders if the new Dunlop insoles I bought for my jogging shoes helped avoid the pain. I flew to Headington and back in an ASTONISHING one hour forty. That's 100 minutes. Or basically the same pace (ten minutes per mile) that I've been achieving on the shorter 6 and 7 mile jogs closer to home.

I'm ecstatic today, and very sweaty.
