Healthy weight gain can be achieved, but only with a balanced eating regimen, an appropriate exercise pattern, and a healthy lifestyle.

Gaining weight can be incredibly difficult and stressful for certain people. There are a few ways to gain weight fast that are affordable, easy to incorporate into your routine and work pretty effectively, but they all require a certain level of planning, dedication and intentionality. If you're not one for sticking to a plan, it's going to be tough for you.

The weight gain tips below are extremely simple, just the way we like it. In the beginning when you're learning how to gain weight, you will have to stuff yourself, because you have to train your body to take in more than it needs.

Healthy weight gain can be achieved, but only with a balanced eating regimen, an appropriate exercise pattern, and a healthy lifestyle. Here's how to say goodbye to a skinny body and gain weight fast:

Eat more than three meals a day

If you naturally have a really fast metabolism, eating three meals a day, no matter what's in them, isn't going to help you bulk up. Your body burns calories fast, so you need to feed it more than it can use up right away. That means eating not just when you're hungry, but throughout the day. Aim to eat five meals a day to gain weight.

More Calorie Intake

The first thing you need to gain weight is increase your calorie intake. A young college going girl needs 1500 calories every day. An additional 500 calories should do the trick. However make sure you eat the right kind of food. You should feel bloated or sluggish at the end of it. Just by increasing the calories by 500 everyday, you will be able to gain 1 to 1.5 pounds a week. Do make a note that extra calories do not mean eating junk or fried food. Meals that are packed with nutrition and protein should be your goal. If you are not sure about what you want to eat, ask a doctor or dietician to give you a proper weight gain eating plan. That should be enough!

Drink Your Food

An easy way to get more calories into your diet is to blend your food. For example, a smoothie with two bananas, two raw eggs, and some protein powder can easily be 600 calories or more. You can take this further (and dirtier) by throwing in some oats, peanut butter, coconut oil, or even flax seed oil into that smoothie. It's all about calories if you want to get those pounds up.

Additional Supplements

There are a few other supplements that bodybuilders tend to add to their diets. Things such as creatine, which helps bind water to your protein cells, can help you to add pounds and increase your energy, but you must continue taking it for it to be effective.

Stick to whole foods loaded with nutrients

To gain healthy weight, eat food that's nutrient rich and nourishing. While you could easily gain weight by drinking sugary sodas and eating large pizzas every day, this can wreck your metabolism and cause you to gain fat instead of muscle.

Eat Meat

Meat contains the proteins necessary for building muscle, and it contains calories, so make sure you buy meat, preferably organic and grass-fed if you can find it. Fish, seafood, and red meat are all great places not only for calories, but also for nutrients and fatty acids. Remember to keep the balance by throwing in some vegetables to your meals. There needs to be a balance. Fruits and vegetables are important to your body, health, and happiness.
