Cellulite: How To Get Rid Of It

Today I wanted to write about a very requested subject – cellulite. A few days ago I made a video about it in Russian, but subtitles sometimes takes me over 8 hours to complete, so I thought it would be much better if I write a full blow post about it here on the blog.

In this article I am gonna go over the real way to get rid of cellulite. If you ever heard a myth that it’s impossible to get rid of cellulite, then it’s just that – a myth. The truth is, you can get rid of cellulite and have smooth legs and butt.

When getting rid of cellulite, most people focus only on the proper nutrition and exercise, but it is not enough to control cellulite. The real way to control cellulite is to balance your hormones, only then the right nutrition and exercise will be effective.

Our hormones control everything in our body and if they go out of balance so does everything else.

Women who have cellulite are estrogen dominant. The reason so many women even young girls are estrogen dominant is because of foods they are eating. Most foods now days are grown with pesticides and antibiotics, meat unless it’s organic is filled with growth hormones.

If you look back at a few generations ago, very few people had cellulite, both my mom and my grandma don’t have cellulite, and I didn’t even know what cellulite is till I moved to US and say young girls in my school have it. Because in the previous generations food was grown the natural way. So now the only real way to get rid of cellulite is to balance out your hormones and get rid of all foods in your diet that will cause an imbalance.

So how do be balance out our hormones?

Eat the right kind of fat every day

So many people make a mistake by cutting out fat from their diet. Good fat doesn’t make you fat! Its the processed fat free foods that do. In order for our hormones to be balanced we need to eat good fat every day with every meal.

Good fat is: Organic Eggs, Coconut Oil, Raw Nuts ( almonds and walnuts are the best ), Coconut Milk, Olive Oil, Avocado.  I have a post called ” Fat Explained “, I suggest you take a looksie because I explain how much fat you should be eating daily.

Oils that you should avoid at all times : Soybean oil ( it’s hiding in a lot of foods these days, check your ingredients list at all times ), hydrogenated oil ( another product that is hiding even in so called healthy foods ), vegetable oil.

Avoid anything with SOY

 Unless you are on menopause you should avoid soy products. Soy contains a lot of estrogen and as I mentioned above soy bean oil is everywhere these days.

If you really love it, you can have just a little and only organic.

Eat More Fish

Fish contains a lot of minerals, and lack of minerals can cause a hormonal imbalance. Try to eat fish at least one a day.  It can be salmon, tuna ( even canned tuna is good ), or any other fish of your choice.

Take Maca Powder

Maca is a true superfood, it is an adaptogen. Not only will Maca help you to balance your hormones but it will also strengthen your immune system and help you develop energy. What ever imbalance you have in your system maca will help you bounce it back to place. It will also help you to get rid of PMS. Mexican Wild Yam Cream

This is another little gem that not a lot of people know about. This stuff is simply amazing, it will really help you to balance estrogen in your body. I use it all the time so I don’t ever get PMS nor cramps. If I ever feel pain in my back or my stomach, all I do is rub a half teaspoon on to the place where I feel a cramp and the pain disappears.

Make sure you get the one with all natural ingredients and the first ingredient has to be – Mexican Wild Yam. All you have to do is apply a half a teaspoon a day to areas of your body where the skin is the thinnest, such as wrists, chest, below your belly button and your neck.  Everytime you apply the cream it has to be on a different spot then you applied it previously.  The cream goes into your pores and does it’s magic.

External Ways to Help with Cellulite

Dry Skin Brushing

The trick to do this the right way is very firm brush. It really helps to increase circulation in the body. The brush that I use is a hair brush, instead of a regular body brush. Because I was never been able to find firm enough for me body brush, so I bought a hair brush which looks like this:

What you gonna do is this: Before you take a shower you will brush your skin in circular motions, starting at your toes, all the way up to your waist and really focus on your problem areas. The dry skin brushing should be about 10 minutes long.

Coffee Scrub

We all know that caffeine is added to all of the firming creams on the market. But nothing is better than the real thing. After you did your dry skin brushing, jump into the shower and wait 5 minutes or so for your pores to open up. Apply coffee all over your legs and leave it on for 5 minutes. Make sure you give it a good scrubbing – also in circular motions.

Mexican Loofa

This is the secret my husbands aunt shared with me. She had a baby when she was 40, and she told me that for the first time in her life she got cellulite. But since she was still doing flying trapeze she needed to get in shape fast, most women who work in the circus lose baby weight with a month and go back to work. So the secret to her losing cellulite was this Mexican loofa. It’s not like the regular loofa it looks like this:

You can find it in a spanish store in the dish washing section. You can use this loofa instead of your skin brushing, or you can do both if you have persistent cellulite. What my husbands aunt did was massage her legs and problem areas every day in the shower with this loofa in circular motions, you skin should be red after use but this is normal.

Intense Interval Running on a Hill

This method is very effective! You shouldn’t do more than 20 minutes and no more than 3 times a week. If you are running on a treadmill raise your incline either at 10 -15 and you will run as fast as you can for exactly 1 minute, then one minute of walking, you will switch back and forth between the two intervals. The first 5 minutes on a treadmill should always be a warm-up, also only do this type of running on the days when you are not strength training.

If you are running outside and can’t find a hill then you can just do regular running, but it has to be even faster than you would run on a treadmill.

When you combine all of these tips together plus eating well and doing strength training workouts 4 days a week, even the most stubborn cellulite will disappear!
