Boozy Weekend Recovery

By Greggers254 @LeeGregory254

We've all been there, haven't we? A weekend packed full of fun, laughter, booze and junk food. You're dreading Monday morning, it's not too far away and you feel terrible. Here are some tips on how to recover and prepare for the week ahead.

1 | Get rid of the alcohol and junk food

This will no doubt come across as obvious, but it's necessary. These two things are responsible for you feeling awful, so you need to stop as soon as possible. You feel great when you're partying and having a good time with friends, but come Monday morning at work, you're going to be thinking "why did I do that!?". It's easy for that 'weekend diet' to continue into the week, and that will only result in a lot more calories and added fat!

2 | Rid your body of toxins

If you have a wild Friday night, that means you have the Saturday and Sunday to flush your system and get prepared for Monday. Depending how much you've had to drink and the food you've eaten, you may well need the full two days to get back to feeling yourself again. Start by drinking water, a dam lot of it. Alcohol and bad food will result in dehydration, which will lead to sluggishness, headaches and even feeling sick. Plenty of water will begin to flush your body of those toxins and re-hydrate you.

After a night or two of partying, drinking and having a good time, it might seem like you're back at school by getting into bed early on Saturday and/or Sunday night, but your body and mind will thank you.

4 | Bring the healthy foods back

After cutting the junk food, it's time to start giving your body what it needs - healthy, nutritious foods. Pack your diet full of vegetables, protein, healthy fats and a few carbs. These foods will re-stock your energy levels, help to detox your body and get your body and mind back in the game.
