My calendar says it is February 21st. It's freezing out and some more miserable weather is on the way this weekend. And that means one thing.
Baseball is back. Thank heavens.
The Red Sox open up their Spring Training schedule with their traditional doubleheader against the college kids at Ft. Myers. Northeastern at 1:30 PM, and Boston College at 4 PM. John Farrell will open his tenure as the 46th Red Sox manager by pitching nothing but relievers in both games. John Lackey will get the start on Saturday against Tampa Bay when the major leaguers come to town.
Baseball is officially back, and the removal off the Stink of 2012 is under way.
