Some of you may have already begun perimenopause, that beginning of the menopause transition where hormones peak and dive like a freaking roller coaster.

Some of you may notice hot flashes, where it feels like you are cooking from the inside out. Some will be sleepless, tossing and turning all night, exhausted the next day, still expected to work and uphold family responsibilities. Some will be anxious for the first time ever. Some might experience mood swings, weepiness, rage.

And then there is the dryness. Everywhere.

I know, it sounds like a horror show. It can be. But I can tell you this: it’s temporary. You will get through this. You’ll survive.

And if you wish to do more than survive? How about thrive?

It’s possible. Preparing yourself helps. Educating yourself about symptoms and what relieves them. Buffing up your immune system by eating well, exercising, stress reduction. No matter how much is on your to-do list, you need to put yourself up near the top.

And the number one remedy? The one that turns this horror story into a delightful coming-of-age one? Other women who are like-afflicted and like-minded. Our original goddess group swears that this is the one thing that got us through, that made us eventually thrive, and become our best selves.

A how-to guide for creating your own group can be found in the book Becoming A Menopause Goddess – or by putting Create a Goddess Group in the Search box on the right side of the blog – all posts related will appear. Trust us – you can’t afford not to do this. Do not travel through this transition alone.

Be proactive, be responsive, travel together, and your menopause journey will help you to open new horizons.
