So. I am unexpectedly teaching two weeks in a row for my after school club. Which is totally fine with me but leaves me at a bit of a loss style-wise. Already students recognize me as the “gentle yoga” teacher, but next week is not gentle yoga’s week in the rotation.
Conversely, I did not get the impression that students were eager for me to teach a traditional power or vinyasa class. Most of the reason for this impression lies in the fact that when I asked what they wanted for next week, they said nothing.
Not — they said, “Nothing.”
But — they said nothing.
This is is understandable, of course, from students who may have limited knowledge of the possibilities of an asana practice. It can be tough to know what you want when you don’t know all there is.
So I joked, at least a little facetiously, that I’d take advantage of the opportunity to incorporate all of my favorite poses. The only thing is — while I might as well take advantage of an opportunity to carefully build a(nother) sequence that I love — I don’t actually thing I could put all of them together into a coherent sequence. I pick and choose, mostly, a few favorites at a time.
So let me ask you — what pose or poses would definitely be included in a sequence of your favorite asanas?
