I was delighted to receive this humorous poem in my inbox the other day – and the author has given me permission to share it. Enjoy – I sure did! She really gets it!

Hot Flash, (Hot Stuff NOT)
by Elizabeth Boquet

Looking for a lover who needs no cover.
Don’t wanna wash another nightgown.
(Better share my bed with a worn-out lover
or I will wring his Y chromosome.)

Gotta stop this hot flash!
Right now, this evening.
I need a cool blast, baby tonight!
Spray me a cool splash, baby this evening.
I’m all sweaty, bare-assed.
Gotta splay “starfish” tonight.

Hot flash!
Godspeed, cool blast.
I want an ice bath.
I need a cool splaaash!

Lying here — not quite a sight to behold —
waiting for the covers to fall.
hot-cold-hot-cold-hot-HOT-cold-hot then co-old.
Wanna bang my head on the wall.

Gotta stop this hot flash!
Right now, this evening.
I need a cool blast, baby tonight!
Spray me a cool splash, baby this evening.
I’m all sweaty, bare-assed.
Gotta splay “starfish” tonight.

Hot flash!
Looking for a cool blast.
Hot, hot, hot, hot flash…
