176: How to Make a Verbal Presentation in Mandarin Chinese

By Learnmandarinnow

Sometimes at work, it’s necessary to bring your teams together to have a discussion or briefing. There’s no time to write anything and it’s all fairly informal anyway. Can you stand up and give a verbal presentation and encourage your staff? Or can you understand what’s being said when the manager gives a short talk or presentation?

In this Podcast, you will learn:

(i) How to encourage others to work towards a goal

(ii) To listen to a briefing given by a manager at work

Dialogue:

The manager wants to give a verbal presentation:

(在公司)

(zài gōng sī)

(at the company)

Jīng lǐ: lái, dà jiā xiān tíng yī xià shǒu lǐ de gōng zuò, wǒ jiù shuō jǐ diǎn. Shǒu xiān, wǒ mén de mù biāo shì, yào ràng kè hù mǎn yì. Qí qì, wǒ mén yào zhēng qǔ zài cì chuàng xīn. Lìng wài, wǒ mén yào cóng shàng yī cì shī bài de xiàng mù zhōng zǒng jié jīng yàn. Zuì hòu, xī wàng dà jiā bù yào yǒu yā lì, hǎo me. Hǎo le, jiù zhè yàng, dà jiā jì xù ba.

Come one everybody, stop what you are doing for a moment. I just want to say a few things. First of all, our primary goal is to keep our clients satisfied. Secondly, we need to try to be innovative again. Additionally, we need to learn our lessons from the failed project last time. Finally, I hope everybody doesn’t put too much pressure on themselves. Alright? Okay, that’s it. Carry on everybody.
