Barbara says, "I’m a mom to a son who was born in July of this year. I knew I was going to love being a mother, but I had no idea how much he would change my perspective on everything. I now know what really matters.
When I found out I was pregnant, I watched The Business of Being Born and it started me on a path of questioning all things related to birth. My education led me to have my son at home with a wonderful midwife, my husband, and my best friend by my side. Now that my son is here, some of the things I’m passionate about are full-term breastfeeding, co-sleeping, genital integrity for all, gentle parenting, and honoring our children as individuals we are here to nurture and love as they find their own paths. I’ve always loved researching and learning and using what I learn to grow as a person. I’m thankful I got hooked into a great network of Facebook pages just after my son was born and found my parenting niche. I look forward to reading and discussing more books that will help me grow as a parent and person."
Kimberly says, "I am the mother of two young sons (almost 3 years old and almost 3 months old respectively) and they are the most amazing little gifts I have ever received. I am also the wife of an extraordinary man who has sacrificed many of his desires to ensure our children and I have the means to follow our dreams. I am the daughter of two military personnel who managed to raise three liberal children by always ensuring we could question their authority and they love us to an almost mythical level. And I am the baby sister (by 13 years!) to two of the most amazing people on the planet. In addition to all that, I am a full-time BSN (Bachelors in Science-Nursing) student and hope to graduate soon.
I am also a breastfeeding proponent, extended BF supporter and participant, strenuously opposed to any method of CIO, and believe that genital integrity is for ALL, not just females.
I am looking forward to learning more and snuggling down with many great 'Zen' reads in our giant family bed. Can’t wait to start this great adventure with you all."
