Ysl Parisienne : Perfume Review and Clicks :)

By Shubha Juyal @shubhajuyal
So weekend happened, and so did my so did my shopping. :) I had been nagging  asking my hubby to get me a new perfume since last month. Just so you know, I have been collecting fragrances since my college days. Then I was more into Victoria's Secret and J.Lo's and Britney Spears (I still like Britney perfumes' :P). Recently I decided to buy/collect more mature or classic fragrances (though I still give into sweet, cotton candy smells)
Anyways,I was 60% sure that I will get Chanel's Coco Noir, as the bottle is just so sexy! Turns out, there is NO Chanel store in Hyderabad!!!! :(
Where today perfume market has been invaded by American fashion houses, don't get me wrong, I love my Vera Wangs, Marc Jacobs, Victoria's Secret' and those Hollywood celebrity perfumes...I love there pretty designer bottles and sensational commercials, even the perfumes smell great (well most of them)..but they just do not have that depth, sillage and longevity that these pure bred french perfumes provide.
Anyways...I decided Dior or YSL,...and after smelling almost all of there perfumes and numbing out my nose, I came down to Dior Addict (ammmmaazzing fragrance, a must try) and YSL Parisienne.
They did not have Dior Addict original :( they only had itd Eau Sensualle version which I passed. So I had the option to either wait for it or buy the other perfume which was equally lovely but absolutely different.

YSL PARISIENNE : THE PERFUME

"The new fragrance by Yves Saint Laurent is a sensuous bouquet to the woman whose heart belongs to Paris… even if home is elsewhere. A voluptuous floral accord of violet, damask roseand tart blackberry seems to tell the whole story. But then comes the fullness of sandalwood, deepened by musk and brightened by peonies, tying the endnotes to the ones beginning." www.yslbeautyus.com
Okay, if you have not seen the commercial of this perfume, you HAVE to watch it. It has Kate Moss, in a Paris backdrop, writhing around at the back of a Limousine, while smelling a bouquet or pale pink roses. This add, is possibly the best and the worst perfume add ever. Best , because its sensual, very sexy and mysterious and very artistically directed. Bad, as it just does not suit this fragrance. This perfume is flowery, sweet, young, elegant, it maybe sexy but in a timid way. Its perfect advert would be like Miss Dior Cherie's.

Launched in 2009, Parisienne is like a younger and more fun version of 80's classic YSL perfume Paris. This one is more fruity unlike Paris which is a thick Rose with Violets, Mimosa, Lilly, Jasmine and many more flowers. The nose behing this perfume are Sophia Grojsman(Lancome Tresor, YSL Paris), Sophie Labbe (Bvlgari Jasmine Noir, Gianni Versace Couture Versace)

This perfume opens up with a nailpaint-esq smell, as it has vinyl accord. As this smell descends, you are welcomed with lush mix of young Roses, Violets and Berries. The bottom notes bring you sandalwood, patchouli and musky Peony. It's just divine!
If you are a fan of Miss Dior Cherie or Juicy Couture's Couture Couture..then you will love this.
