You Don’t Have to Accept It.

I had a job that looks good on a resume. I was proud of it when I was hired. Years later I felt unfulfilled. Is this it? I would ask myself that. It doesn’t have to be. Ultimately I quit and I threw caution to the wind and I moved to Australia. Of all the people I told, all of about two didn’t think I was crazy. What about my career? What about my safety?

Nearly a year later I returned to the U.S. I was afraid of it. I really was. I was afraid to be around the struggle and pain that is what I believe a root of anguish and frustration. I sat across from a friend of mine and expressed my thoughts on the current state of America. He told me that if I don’t like the state of America than I should get the **** out. Ironically, a month later I left.

It’s hard living in America right now, but that doesn’t mean you have to accept it. It’s your life. Don’t be afraid to live it. The times that we throw caution to the wind and we take that bold step into the unknown, even when everyone thinks your crazy, are many times the moments when you are reminded that you are alive.
