World Football Weekly Poll

Last weeks Winner: Romelu Lukaku

This weeks article will be about who the best Manager is in the Premier League. The choices will be based on their record with their club this season and what the Coaches can deliver in the future.

Manuel Pellegrini has a bright future to look forward to with Manchester City and is looking for more Silverware this year.

Manuel Pellegrini:

The Chilean has been very successful during his first season at the noisy neighbours. They are currently sitting 4th in the table but are two games behind. If they win both games, they are tied with Chelsea on points but would gain the 1st spot due to goal difference. Manuel Pellegrini has also just won the Capital One Cup and is looking forward to winning more trophies this year. Manchester City certainly have the chance to win the Premier League as well as the FA Cup. The so called “Tactician” or “Engineer” has made City an even larger threat in the football world and uses everything at his disposal. The future is even brighter because the team still doesn’t look perfect. City seem’s to panic when playing an opponent that plays with possession. Pellegrini is one of the best coaches out there and is certainly a good choice for best BPL coach.

José Mourinho:

José Mourinho is not the textbook manager teams usually look for, but certainly backs it up with trophies from his past. Chelsea are currently 1st in the BPL with 63 points and look  like favourites to win. The “special one” is currently on his second stint at Chelsea and is looking to match the success of his first spell. This year it didn’t seem like Chelsea would be very successful with Mourinho aiming for a place in the top four. The Portuguese boss has repeatedly stated that this team is built to win; but not this year. In the near future, Chelsea will probably be the team to beat as Mourinho has the power to turn a Sunday League club into a winning team; and will do the same with Chelsea. Of course Chelsea is already a winning team; but it will be turned into a winning team that is feared amongst everyone.

Brendan Rodgers:

You could say that most of Brendan Rodgers’ success is due to the mind blowing performances by Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez this season. But this is not be the case. These two lethal strikers have combined for 42 goals and 15 assists in this years campaign which is nothing short of stunning. There is now a consistency in Liverpool’s performances that Anfield hasn’t seen in a while. Rodgers has brought structure to their play and has turned several players into exciting contributors. Examples of this would be Raheem Sterling and Jordan Henderson, who have both been integral parts of the teams top four aspirations this season. They have combined for 9 goals and 9 assists in this years BPL. Trophies are a little far fetched this season but the Champions League was, and remains their primary target and they are in well contention for a spot. The future is bright for Liverpool and Rodgers, but that is only if they get a Champions League spot.

Arsène Wenger:

Arsène Wenger is currently the most experienced Manager in the BPL as he has been at Arsenal since 1996. ”Le Professeur” has led Arsenal to 3 titles including the undefeated season with “The Invincible’s”. There has not been much success since that season but that might change in the near future. With the addition of Mesut Özil, the mood changed and there was a sudden hunger and demand of a trophy. In recent games however, Arsenal has dropped points and must get back to winning ways as they are losing their grip on the title. The Frenchman has however brought Arsenal to the Semi-Finals of this years Fa Cup. The future looks average compared to the other teams. If Wenger can sign a striker and build a better bench, they might have a more prosperous future to look forward too.
