Working On Creative Courage

By Tamera Beardsley @tamerabeardsley

With the New Year hereandthe opportunity for fresh new beginningsI have been very introspective of late.

Climbing up this hill which borders a major streetin our suburban neighborhoodI have to ask myself once again
Why do I do this?

Continually push myself out of my comfort zoneto have my creative visions capturedto share.
I know I can dress myself welland could style myself to be much more popularandmainstream.

But I am driven from withinin a creative questthat is becoming so much the  stronger.

I realize I have been so influenced by so many marvelous womenI have 'met' on instagram.
Women living their artistic liveswith creative authenticityand zest for life.
They speak my languageandinspire my heart.

I want to be a womanwho can have couragein being different.
A quiet courageas in this is meand I like me.
The more I like me the more I will like you.
I realize where I live herein the suburbiathat I know and love that a lot of emphasis is givento being homogenous within the group.
I want to respect my own visionin a calmI know I might make you uncomfortable in my differentnesshereso I will show up with even more love to show you kind of way.

I think the more we can all learnto seebeing differentdoesn't necessarily mean bad or scarythe more we can all grow to truly appreciate each other andour differences.

I want to developmore authentic creativityto be a womencomfortable in her own skin and being.
To spend more time with the sage that is withinand less time being pulled of courseby internal saboteurs.

I truly believethe more we can shine our own internal lightthe morewe enable others tofind and share theirs.
I thankandam indebted to the woman I have foundthat have inspired me to turn upmy own internal light.
