Words & Wisdom- The World’s Grace!

Posted on the 28 July 2015 by Amreen Shaikh @Amu1312

27th July, 2015 was a day I may never forget in my lifetime, as I witnessed extremely heavy rainfall early morning. I remember the noise of the rain when it fell on the ground and everything about that atmosphere was beautiful, despite knowing that the breeze was strong and the rains almost blurred my locality in sight.

27th July, 2015, late evening, I received a message from my cousin on a group chat, stating the sudden demise of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, an Ex Indian President. The news left me in a state of shock, but when I read the message further and learned that he collapsed while giving a lecture in Shillong, a smile ran through my face. He was an inspiration to me always, and when he died, he gave us all an undying inspiration for life.

I remember when I was in my 7th grade and our school organized a competition, where we were supposed to write a letter to the then President, showing them gratitude and also sharing with them a few social issues we find in our surroundings. 1 best letter from each grade was then selected to be submitted to the President. Dr. Abdul Kalam was the then President. I remember, how, with delight, I wrote a beautiful letter, in a nice cursive hand writing and how, my letter was selected from my grade. That was one moment of victory indeed! It was because, I adored him as during my schooling years, I was always fascinated by Astronomy and Science, and to know that our President was a scientist, made a connection with him.

Today, when I reminisce about him, his smiling face shines in front of my eyes and all his wise words, come to my mind and my heart only feels inspired.

He was one such light and shine of the world, keeping the beauty of love, compassion and education, alive. And with his demise, the world lost its grace, its enamor, a little, but, his words, his actions, are no less an inspiration, and hopefully, we may witness in the future, a soul, which can make us live his memory alive!

My today's Words & Wisdom is a dedication to one of the best people, who walked on this planet and I pray, that may Allah, grant him a beautiful paradise and may his soul rest in peace, In Sha Allah!
