Hello everyone! This week for the Winter Wonderland series I have three books to share with you.
Sometimes when it’s too cold to go outside and there isn’t much to do indoors, I love to curl up with my winter woolies, a cup of tea and a good book. I am partial to a good novel, but there are sometimes when you just want to be immersed in a quick book that’s a little mindless, easy to read and maybe learn a thing or two. I love books that you can always go back to and have a quick flick through.
Here are my three favorite reads…
‘Amazing Face’ by Zoe Foster (Blake), $31.95
OK, so it’s common knowledge on this blog that I’m a MASSIVE fan of Zoe Foster Blake AND I was lucky enough to acquire all of her books, PLUS have a couple of them signed by the Yummy Mummy herself.
I love this book. It has a lot of tips and tricks to it and even teaches you things you thought you already knew, but didn’t. (True story in my case.) It’s just so easy to read and you don’t even need to read it from cover to cover. Just flick through to the section you’re interested and enjoy! It’s also got that Zoe humor we all love.
‘It’ by Alexa Chung, $23.95
This book I bought and then forgot I even knowned til everyone else was purchasing it. (I also paid a lot more for it.)
It’s one of those picture books with a few paragraphs for a story. It has everything in it: beauty, fashion, celebrities, personal stories, models, travel and illustrations. Another very easy read. There are even some things that will lift your mood.
‘Empower Yourself’ by Miranda Kerr, $19.95
Another girl crush I have is Miranda Kerr. I have been using her KORA Organics skincare like for YEARS now and I’ve always highly recommend them to friends and family.
I owned her first book Treasure Yourself, which I love and when I heard she had purchased another book I knew I had to have it.
This book is full of uplifting affirmations for you and almost every aspect of your life. They all work together really well too. For example, embrace and grieve an ended relationship, but also see this as an opportunity to learn from your past, make peace with it and embrace the next chapter of your life.
Three other books I thought I’d mention, I’ve owned which is worth the mention are…
‘Influence’ by Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen, $40.50
I love fashion picture books. Not really one of those books that keeps you interested for too long, but I find that sometimes you just need to be inspired with pictures only. I love this book. It’s a perfect coffee table book to have around for guests to flick through when they visit.
‘That Extra Half an Inch’ by Victoria Beckham, $23.80
Probably one of my first fashion book I ever bought. I LOVE Victoria Beckham. Ever since The Spice Girls, Posh was always my favorite. There have been times when looking at her makes me feel exhausted (that time she wore a suit to Disneyland) but her sense of style is just so elegant, flawless and smart and that’s what I like about her. There is that hint of narcissism – pages and pages of her looking perfect – but I find that it’s not as shallow as someone like Paris Hilton. This book has class!
‘Making Faces’ by Kevyn Aucoin, $25.90
And how could you pass Kevyn Aucoin? I mean really. Like Zoe’s Amazing Face this is an easy go-to reference book that will teach and reteach you for years to come. It’s timeless and full of tips and tricks of applying makeup. Definitely worth having for your book collection.
