I love your site, I probably look at it everyday. I really enjoy all the articles and recipes.
I am 66 years old and always worried about my weight. Tried a lot of the diets, W.W, South Beach and even Jenny Craig which was awful. I found out about your website when I was in Antiqua, Guatemala on a mission in the hospital. I met two girls there , a nurse and anesthetist. They introduce me to your site. I thought there was no way I could go with out bread especially at breakfast.
I started when I got back which was middle of February and I had a doctor who was using this way of eating so she kept track of my lipid panel. I was also on statins which I went on and off, I would get muscle issues. Went off and my last LDL was normal, went off way before the blood work, triglycerides went up a little and my total went down. So I was happy.
I had a CT calcium score in 2015. My score was 217, 80th percentile. I would like to have another one to see if any changes occurred. I feel great.
The weight loss has been slow but steady I started at 170 lbs (77 kg) and 5'3″ (160 cm) tall and I am now 155 lbs (70 kg) and still losing. My kids really noticed the weight loss. I have also encouraged them to eat this way even though they are fit.
This is the first time I have stayed on a program of eating, I love it. Yes, I sometimes have cravings but I somehow I get thru it.
