In this painting, I’ve revisited the same image I used for my painting “Wild Wood.”

In this painting, I’ve zoomed in on the trees surrounding the sun where it breaks around the edge of a silhouetted tree trunk, its glowing light shining towards us out of the canvas.

The beautiful thing about this painting is the contrast between the soft, hazy trees in the background, which are painted in soft pastel tones: pink, yellow, and light green, against the bold, back-lit trees in the foreground, which are very dark.

Sun hitting the yellow lichen and the leaves of the underbrush at the bottom makes them glow brightly.

This painting captures a moment of dreamy beauty in the forest.
