Where’s the Love

By Mike Bullock

Someone’s gone and lost their job
Made redundant in a flash
Peace and comfort sadly gone
Plans and dreams now turned to ash
Joins the ever growing queue
Fighting for a chance to work
It is likely they will fail
Where’s the love we gladly shirk.

Christians, we call ourselves
Sitting in our comfy pews
While the world outside implodes
Grief and poverty ensues
Surely Jesus is alarmed
By His people standing still
Matthew 25 is real
Where’s the love that fits the bill.
