Where is the Love for Pirate Pitching?

By Kipper @pghsportsforum
The more I look at our pitchers, the more I see that they don't get the love they deserve. I'm only talking about a few. Particularly Jeff Locke and Mark Melancon. Let's just look at some basic stats.
Starting Pitchers by ERA
Matt Harvey 2.00 7-1
Jeff Locke 2.06 7-1
Clayton Kershaw 2.08 6-5
Adam Wainwright 2.22 11-5
Patrick Korbin 2.22 9-0
People argue with me, but I see no better stat than ERA for a pitcher. So there you have it. How often do you hear about Harvey. A ****ing lot. How often do you hear about Jeff Locke? None. If Jeff Locke has another good start and Harvey sucks 1 more game before Thursday, Locke should be the Starter for the NL. But it won't happen. I would seriously think he may not even get in. That also may be contributed to the fact that every team gets a player in, which is entirely stupid. If every single player on a team sucks, why should the best sucky player get to take a deserving players spot? He shouldn't.
Relievers with atleast 20 IP by ERA
Rex Brothers 0.52
Mark Melancon 0.89
Craig Kimbrel 1.48
Luis Avilan 1.60
Kevin Gregg 1.65
Jason Grilli 1.72
There you have it. Clearly Melancon should be in, and Grilli too just because he has been the best closer in baseball.
It just fires me up that channels like ESPN and MLB Network don't talk about Melancon and Locke like they do other pitchers. And that they may get snubbed. I guess I am overreacting because they may both make it. But probably not because every team gets a player just like every little leaguer gets a trophy.
