Czech Mate!

The supremely talented lefty Korda had always threatened to win a major, but it took 6 years between his first Grand Slam final at the French in 1992, to finally win one in 1998 against big rival Rios.

His other big success was winning the 1993 Grand Slam Cup with wins over Stich and Sampras, the top 2 players at the time. However in 1999 he received a 12 month ban for testing positive for Nandrolone, which effectively put an end to his career. That Nandrolone, seriously, a sportsman’s crack!
