Happy Monday pretties! Hope everyone is enjoying this start of a new week. The sun is shining, and even though I am in an office majority of the day, I am still stoked on the heat. It's really starting to feel like summer... so much so that I spent the whole day at the beach yesterday. I couldn't have enjoyed my Sunday any more. Anyways, I wanted to give you guys a look inside my make- up bag. When it comes to life in general, I am pretty OCD. I like my room a certain way, my night time ritual is always the same, and I have stayed true to my make-up application for years now. As I am sure you have once heard before, less really is more. Not to offend anyone, because everyone has their own personal style, but when it comes to your face- caked on foundation and spider eyes are NOT pretty. Keep it simple, let everyone see how pretty you are naturally (or mostly natural atleast). If that doesn't convince you to keep it mellow in regards to your make-up, I promise you this- nothing more a guy dislikes than mascara stained sheets and a girl who looks completely different sans make-up in the AM.
2. Rimmel ScandalEyes Mascara: I love Rimmel beauty products. Not only are they affordable, but such good quality as well. I am a sucker for long lashes, and this Rimmel Mascara does the trick!
3. Maybelline Great Lash Mascara: Now that you have long lashes (see above), the next thing is to get them full and dark. Which is where the classic pink & green Maybelline Great Lash comes into play. This has been a staple for me since I started using make-up at 13, and always will be. I usually do a few swipes of this bad boy after I use my Rimmel mascara.
4.Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler: Anyone who knows make-up, know that this Shu Uemura eyelash curler is the best. Maybe a little pricey, but 100% worth it. I use this BEFORE any and all mascara. Never use it after, it rips out your lashes. Not cute or fun.
5. L'oreal Extra Intense Eyeliner: I never ever go without eyeliner, and this is the best eyeliner ever. Promise. I like to my eyeliner on the inside rim of my eyes, so it is hard to find one that stays all day and goes on dark. The L'oreal Extra Intense liner does just that. If going out, I may do a slight cat eye on my lid, and it also exceeded my expectations. Goes on smooth, and lasts.
6. Almay Smart Shade Anti-Aging Make-up: This is one of the newest additions to my make- up arsenal, and I am obsessed. It goes on as lotion and blends perfectly to match your skin. It is a mix between tinted moisturizer and foundation, so it goes on light and never looks cakey. The fact that this Almay Smart Shade goodness also helps with the prevention of aging is an added plus.
7. Bare Mineral Brushes: For a while I used Bare Minerals, and ended up not being much of a fan. Yet I must say they do have the BEST make-up brushes. I love the way they apply make-up and they are soft & will never irritate your skin like some brushes do. Nix the mineral stuff (kind of a waste), and just grab some of the Bare Mineral brushes.
8. L'oreal True Match Powder: This powder is what I apply after my Almay Smart Shade make-up. L'oreal True Match adds the perfect amount of coverage and makes your skin literally look like porcelain.
9. Physicians Formula Mood Booster: This stuff actually will boost your mood. It is a combo of the most perfect blush, and the most glowing bronzer. I always get asked (odd, I know) what bronzer and blush I use. You wouldn't believe how many people I have turned onto this Physicians Formula Mood Booster. It also smells so good for some reason... maybe that's just me.
10. Mac Cremesheen in Fashion Scoop: Lipglass by MAC used to be my main squeeze, but the constant stickiness trapping stray hairs like a fly trap got somewhat annoying. I do love MAC products though, so now I stick with the MAC cremesheen gloss. It isn't as sticky, and is much more creamy and natural. Fashion Scoop goes on very sheer, so it isn't too pink (ew), yet adds the perfect bit of color.
11. Cherry Chapstick: Don't think that chapstick needs much of an explanation. Soft lips are a must, & since I only wear lip gloss on occasion, this cherry chapstick is my go-to. I am pretty sure that someone even named a song after cherry chapstick... or I just made that up.
12. Almay Wake-Up Undereye Concealer: I am sure you guys have probably heard me harping about my undereye circles.... they really are the worst. I did just get Yes to Blueberries Undereye roller, which has been working wonders, yet I am always in need of a little extra pick me up. This Almay Wake-Up Undereye Concealer does a great job at covering up my shiners, and it also brightens my eyes up a lot.
