Winchester Fashion Week 2014 – Part 1

Hey There,

So last weekend I went to Winchesters Fashion Week, where some beautiful models, showcased the wardrobes, hitting the designers, the boutiques and the high street retailers of Winchester this Spring Summer.

If you have ever been to Winchester, (And I am allowed to say this), then you will know what I mean, when I say… It was very Winchester. The style and trends on the catwalk were very traditional, smart, and elegant. Being only in my twenties, there were only one or two retailers which I saw ‘MUST HAVE’ pieces from, but that doesn’t mean that I wasn’t loving the classic or vintage looks in the show.

We were greeted with a free glass of wine, (Always a good start), with a bar open for constant refreshments, (Or should I say wine top ups), there were shop stalls set up, (So you could have a nose around before the catwalk) there were nibbles, wine tasting, chocolate trying, and general chit chat.

The show started at 7pm, and was broken up in to two halves.

To start with, (And in picture order) we had clothes from Joules, Phase Eight, Beales, Stardust Years, TAG, Cath Kidson, Laura Ashley, Justice, LK Bennett, CMe Essentials and Boudoir Blush.

There is definitely a nautical theme going on here, and it looks great teamed up with a pop of bright colour, those girls floral trousers are very cute, (I wonder if they do them in adult sizes).

A preppy style here with the use of smart shirts, and blazers, with some lovely spring colours trending through the outfits. The dresses at Phase Eight are gorgeous, this Azalea one (Above) being perfect for spring/summer weddings.

Now I am absolutely loving the tailored fit trousers at the moment, (Even though my thighs aren’t), these floral ones are ideal and very on style. Beales are catwalking a rather, formal, business attire here.

A shop I haven’t come across in Winchester before, ‘Stardust Years’, but absolutely loving their Vintage style, (Although it wouldn’t go in my personal day to day wardrobe), my favorite piece from their walk, is the cream dress/cloak, I think it was the long train behind it which I won me over.

I was really looking forward to seeing what TAG had to offer, it is a fairly new shop to Winchester, but perfect for the younger/student population of Winchester. Their prints are very out there and exactly on trend (Which I love), and just look at that dress, (My absolute favorite piece from the show), I know the model wearing it could probably make anything look good though.

Now this may be a stupid comment… But I didn’t even know Cath Kidston did clothes? I thought she was a bag, tea cup, print kinda lady. I think a Cath Kidston print is a classic, and can be spotted almost straight away, those floral trousers are great.

And Laura Ashley? Doesn’t she just do furniture?… Am I the only one, or am I just less clued up on fashion than I thought?…

To show off the Jewellery by Justice, the models wore all black. I do want to know where that black tshirt dress is from though.

I am a huge fan of the leather look at the moment, so its good to see LK Bennett pulling out the stops with these beauts. The pop of yellow is perfect for bringing the look into spring. I also have a thing for white dresses at the moment, and how cute does this dress look teamed with a pink waist belt, and heels, (Ideal for those spring/summer formal occasions).

Here we have CMe Essentials, who are definitely focusing on the bold print trouser trend this spring summer.

To finish the first half of WFW2014, the models showed of their great bodies, in some stunning lingerie from Boudoir Blush, (A shop I often go in to and walk straight out of as I can’t afford the prices…. But I am just out of uni – More or less). Anyone else who earns a decent wage, needs to visit this shop, the pieces are gorgeous.

I apologize for some of the quality of the pictures, of course my camera had to run out of battery, and my only back up was my phone.

I hope you have enjoyed my first update on WFW2014. I will be posting the second half of WFW2014 on the blog soon.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE LOOK FROM THE SHOW?

Lots of Love,
