This is the ornament from Stephen’s parents. Too bad we won’t have a tree to decorate this year. Since we are moving the week of Christmas we thought it would be better to not decorate. Next year we will have engagement and wedding ornaments on our tree! I can’t wait!
I also found this glass tray from Nordstrom Rack. I am a sucker for anything with a lock or key on it. I needed a place for my engagement ring while I’m sleeping. It’s too pretty to put in my jewelry box with all my other normal jewelry. So this was the perfect find.
When we got home from Ontario my mom and I went to her work Christmas party. We had so much fun! Remember how I said I wasn’t going to drink again until next year? Well, that didn’t last. I enjoyed a couple drinks at the party. One of them in particular was amazing. I can't remember what it was called but it was a Caribbean drink with Rum. I love my mom so much!
We played a couple of games. One of them was charades. We had to act out titles of Christmas movies. I’m no actress but we all had to take turns. When it came time for me to step up I was given Ernest Saves Christmas. I was able to get them to guess the word Christmas. BUT I had no idea how I was going to get them to guess Ernest and Saves. Somehow my team picked up on it. This is me saying, “How in the heck did you guess that?" I was highly impressed by them.
My mom’s co-worker made Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Lasagna. OH MY GOODNESS. It was heavenly. Remember that other time when I said I was only going to splurge a couple days this month? Yeah, this was definitely one of those days.
I was so happy to go back to my parents’ house and sleep with my fluffy baby.
Sunday morning snuggles.
See that right there? That’s ninety-six cookies. Thanks to my dad I was able to get them all done in time for the cookie exchange my mom and I went to. We brought peanut butter chocolate chip cookies but they weren’t just regular peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. There were only six ingredients. Natural crunchy peanut butter, eggs, sugar, baking soda, vanilla and chocolate chips. No flour was involved so they are gluten-free. They could be made paleo if you use almond butter or cashew butter. And they would be vegan if it weren’t for the egg so you could always find an egg substitute. The chocolate chips we used were dairy free.
We had such a good time at the cookie exchange. We completely forgot to take any pictures! I did get a selfie in though. #ofcourse My mom and I brought home twix cookies, turtles, gingerbread cheesecake cookies, chocolate peppermint cookies and some of our own peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. I promised my fiancé I’d bring him some so I packed up about half.
This time of year is so dangerous. Delicious food everywhere! I’m about to eat my Trader Joe’s Asian Chicken Salad. I’ll pretend it’s Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Lasagna.
