...is the soulful and mesmerizing romantic song of the film, "Guddu Engineer" which released last Friday, 14th September 2018 on ZEE5 as a part of the "ZEE5 Film Festival". I was a part of the special screening of the film at The Cuckoo Club, Bandra. My husband accompanied me to the movie screening as it is of the romance genre and we thought we would have a great time that evening. The trailer had felt really promising to us.

When I think of Guddu Engineer, I think of the above-mentioned song. It sort of summarizes the emotion of the entire movie and a subtle yet lingering idea of romance and love brims one's mind and soul. It is directed by Nikkhil Advani , who previously directed movies like Kal Ho Na Ho, Salaam-E-Ishq, Patiala House and more. His movies are often subject-oriented with traces of love and other emotions blended into the entire story. But with Guddu Engineer, he goes into a whole new space. The film is a beautiful story of love and hate, of honesty and betrayal, of good and the bad that feels incredibly fresh.

The movie stars Prabuddh Dyma (Guddu) and Pranali Ghogare (Sonia), are debuting with this short film. The actors have performed brilliantly and have done full justice to their characters. The side characters, who are friends to Guddu have also essayed their role very well and their presence is definitely felt.

When asked why he chose to make this film, Nikkhil Advani answered that it is the materialization of an inspiring quote by Rumi , "Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it."

Indeed, it expresses an array of ideas and syllables of love and partnership. Guddu, in the movie, can't speak and is an engineering student who tries to woo Sonia by making a list of all things she likes and tries his best to fulfil them, with the help of this friends. The film is set in the classic and beautiful Varanasi, which really helps in connecting with the idea of the story.

The movie has an incredibly interesting climax which seems unexpected and has a raw appeal. It makes one think and engage on how the end could be! I, for one, was intrigued and that's what makes it an interesting movie to look out for. Nikkhil has done an amazing job of portraying such raw emotions in such a subtle way. The highlight of the movie, for me, is definitely the only song in the movie, which suffices every emotion one looks out for. It has such beautiful lyrics and one is immensely indulged in its beauty.

My husband and I had an amazing time watching "Guddu Engineer" and would also recommend our readers to watch it on ZEE5 right away!
