VOV Soft Matte Lip Cream in No 02

By Natasha Bhatt
Hi girls,
I hope the weekend is coming along well for you girls. I guess most of you may have already started your Diwali shopping. It is so exciting during this time of the year isn't it?  My today's review is of a Soft Matte lip cream from VOV cosmetics in no.02 . While I know NYX does make this as many of you may already  know. This one is a cheap substitute for the same. Let us see how this fares in my review....

Ingredients:

Price: Rs. 150/- for 6.5ml I got it for 120 bucks on discount!!!
What the company says about the product: (refer to pic. no 1 above,  exactly the same words as the NYX one)
The description is exactly same as the NYX one which says that It's not lipstick, nor is it gloss. It's like nothing you have experienced before. It's lipstick cream that goes on silky but looks soft matte.

The lip cream comes in a neat plastic packaging where the color of the body matches the actual shade of the lip cream hence you can easily locate the shade you are looking for.The shade does not have a name and is number coded which is mentioned at the bottom of the tube. The cap is black and it has a doe foot applicator which picks up the product well. It is an exact dupe of the NYX soft matte lip cream which was launched a long time back in India . These are supposed to be a cheaper version of the NYX ones. The whole list of ingredients is mentioned on the packaging which is a surprising thing as many of the big brands also don't do that as far as I know. It is hypoallergenic and it has not been tested on animals as mentioned on the packaging. It does not leak at all and hence is travel friendly. Overall its packaging is decent and not much to complain about to be honest.

The  description mentioned is that it  is neither a lipstick or a gloss. It is a lip cream and really true to its description it truly is!! The texture is like that of whipped cream and let me tell you it smells like butter scotch ice cream :D It goes on very smooth and buttery on the lips. Initially when you apply the shade looks like as something is wrong with you.. hahaha but once it sets on the lips it looks lovely, matte and au naturale . I generally use my finger to dab the shade on the lips after I apply with the applicator. So once it is on the lips it will not budge for a good 4 hours or so. It may fade after a meal or so but does not stain the lips at all. One coat on the lips is enough for the color to show up as it is opaque and well pigmented. Now the thing with these lip creams is it can easily accentuate  the fine lines of your lips, so for those with that issue please stay away also if you have dry and chapped lips you need to exfoliate and moisturize your lips well before using the lip cream. Availability is a major issue for many as this may or may not be available everywhere. There is another brand Miss Claire which makes these. I have not tried those  yet but if I do will surely review it sometime.
The Good:
Smooth texture.
Gives a matte finish.
Lovely smell.
Decent packaging.
Quite inexpensive.
Travel friendly.
Hypoallergenic and not tested on animals.
Lasts for a decent amount of time. The not so Good:
May not be suitable for those with flakey dry lips.
May accentuate fine lines on lips.
Availability is a major issue.

Rating: 4/5

This lip cream is an exact dupe of the NYX one and is really good to be honest. For the price it works well. Considering the NYX one which is for 750 bucks, this is just a fraction of the price. You should definitely try from this range if you can find it.

I hope my review was helpful. Please feel free to comment below I read and reply to all of them.

Happy Weekend everyone !!
