VLCC Matte Look Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 Review

There are a lot of sunscreens available in the market. One should be always careful while buying a sunscreen. It should go with your skin type and the amount of UV rays that you are facing daily. In my case, I have oily and sensitive skin, so I need to extra cautions with sunscreens as they are mostly made up of various chemical.

I always opt for the ones that have natural ingredients, so I tried VLCC Matte Look Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30. This amount of SPF is more than enough for me since I spend about 2-3 hours in the sun. Read on to find out my experience with this product.

My experience with VLCC Matte Look Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30

Packaging

All VLCC sunscreens come in similar packaging and are sometimes even hard to distinguish from one another. The cream comes in a colourful yellow plastic tube with a huge flip flop orange cap.

All the necessary details are written on the pack itself. The cap seals the product well and prevents any leakage. It comes in different sizes, so one can choose accordingly. Overall the packaging is quite sturdy and travel-friendly.

Texture/Consistency:

The cream has a very thick texture and does not spread easily. It is pure white in color. However, it gets absorbed really fast without making the skin look oily. I wouldn’t suggest this cream during summers as it feels heavy and uncomfortable.

Fragrance

The cream has a very fruity fragrance and quite similar to pineapple. In fact the smell is very strong and wouldn’t go away easily. So people who are allergic to strong fragrance wouldn’t like this product!

Hydration/Effectiveness

The cream is very difficult to blend. I have to sometimes literally use a sponge to cover my skin since my fingertips fail to spread the cream evenly. It gets absorbed very quickly and controls my sebum for a long period of time. It doesn’t dry my skin either and because of the formulation, it didn’t cause any breakout or acne.

Like most of the sunscreens, this leaves a whitish cast on my face which looks very fake and becomes cakey after some time. This has really disappointed me.

I cannot use it below my makeup since it makes my skin look extra white and lighter. It comes with a decent amount of SPF which is ideal for daily use. However, if I use it in a precise manner, then it adds a nice glow to my face that is good for a ‘no makeup’ look.

Extremely thick texture

Would I recommend VLCC Matte Look Sun Screen Cream SPF 30

Sadly the product failed to impress me :p I didn’t find anything unique in the sunscreen, there are much better products available in the market that can be used in any season. I do not recommend this product

Final Verdict

Irrespective of the fact that the sunscreen comes from a very famous brand-VLCC, I feel the cream lacks certain factors that people like us are looking for. It keeps the skin moisturized and protects it well from harmful sun rays with the perfect amount of SPF for daily use. Though it controls oil for a long period of time it has too many disadvantages that cannot be overlooked.
