Recently, Clutch Magazine posted a video of a beautiful wedding that took place in Lexington, Kentucky between a gay couple . Personally, I‘ve never attended a gay wedding but now that I think about it, I haven’t attended a wedding in 10 years. Anyway, the couple posted the video and all hell broke loose. Most people were positive and sent well wishes, while others of course took it as an opportunity to spread the hate. Negative comments appeared on Twitter and other social media outlets that of course weren’t too nice. I’m not sure if the comments were because these people had a problem with gays or because these men were a part of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity either way people really need to get a life.
Let me clear, I have no problem with people’s opinions, beliefs, religion or anything else. I don’t pass judgment on people and honestly, if you like it, I love it. However, I do have a problem with people spreading hate. It seems to be too much of it going on in the world these days. My question is what does gay or lesbian people getting married have to do with you? Wouldn’t your time be best served worrying about your own life? And if you want to fight for a cause, fight for something that really matters like homelessness or the millions of kids in the world that go hungry every day. Fight for cancer research, a better educational system, and equal pay for women. The other thing that bothers me is that much of this hate comes from the African-American community. Decades ago if you re-call, African-Americans didn’t have equal rights. People had to fight for our rights; so who are we to flip the script and say that people shouldn’t be allowed certain rights because they choose to be who they are and love who they love. Wasn’t we at one time persecuted because people considered us different.
And for those of you, who like to use your bible as a weapon to condemn others to hell, please note that there is no scripture in the bible that states we should hate or judge anybody. It is not Godly to condemn others to hell, spread hate, or disgrace your fellow man. However, the bible does speak of love, patience, and kindness. So for those of you toting the bible to spread hate, you may want to read it again because obviously you missed something.
I’m all for love and happiness wherever you find it. See the video of this handsome couple below.
