Urban Decay, Tarina Tarantino, Make Up For Ever & Tokidoki

By Stephanie1 @NewBeautyReview
More of my adventures in Makeup shopping...
The other day I went to Ulta & got the Urban Decay, 24/7 Glide-On Eye Shadow Pencil in Delinquent that I'd wanted for a few weeks. It's a deep shimmery purple that really pops when you add shadow to it. While in Sephora today, I tested it again. I don't know why but it didn't wear as well this time. I ended up returning it. I don't like to do that but since it wasn't used so I didn't feel too bad about it. I got turned off as I felt it wore away & left behind chunks of glitter. I became concerned that it would wear down and I'd look like I'd been at the Limelight all night dancing to techno! Lol!
I just wasn't into it. The others were fine but I wanted purple. Plus, I figured I liked the Sephora brand that doesn't have the glitter but can still pop with added shadow while holding it all together, long wear style. I might reconsider, who knows.
I remembered I still had an Amazon gift card left over from Christmas so I decided to order a Tarina Tarantino, Sparklicity Shimmer Dust instead of buying it in store. It comes in 3 different shades: Gold, Bronze & the original which is like a silver. I got the silver.
It's an atomizer that comes in this beautiful bottle with micro crystalline sparkles that you can spritz on your face, body & hair....like fairy dust! Eeek! You can imagine my excitement! It'll be here next week :-)
Also in Sephora, I got the Tarina Tarantino, Sparklicity Pure in Gold. (They didn't have it on Amazon or I would've gotten it there too)
These are different because they come in pots & are good for eyes, cheeks & lips. They're just the most delicate, beautiful sparkly powders. I would buy every color, in fact I just might!
There are 5 different shades: Pure Bronze, Pure Crystal, Pure Gold, Pure Nude, Pure Opal.

I was trying to think of what I have that's similar because they're kind of like sparkly pigments. The closest thing I have is Make Up For Ever, Star Powder.
The place to stock up on these intense Star Powders is the Makeup Show so I got 2 samples to hold me over until then. I got #947 (Iridescent Pale Peach) & #926 (Iridescent Beige) I have #941, which I love & I'll definitely get these and a few others at The Makeup Show in full size. They're just my kind of eye shine. They're so pigmented and just the right touch of shimmer. Simply divine!
I knew how amazing the Urban Decay, 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Liners were from before but I was looking for a purple this time. I found it in a shade called Retrograde. It's the perfect shimmery deep purple and it's really, really waterproof so it's not moving! I scrubbed my arm w/anti-bac dish soap where I tested it (to swatch it out) & it didn't budge. Love it!!

FYI-While I was in the Make Up For Ever section, I tested their liquid Aqua Liner and I noticed the 7 Diamond Black Purple is the EXACT same formula as the Urban Decay!
The only 2 differences were the MUFE has a felt tip & costs $23 while the UD has a teeny hair like tip and costs $18.
It ends up boiling down to how you prefer to apply, what you want to spend & if you have loyalty to either brand. I promise you they are the exact same product. Just saying...

Last week during my Sephora Birthday haul, I wanted this tokidoki Rollerball Set of 6 mini fragrances. I liked all of them so I asked if they were going to be discontinued soon. I explained that since I liked them so much and they're so little, they'll run out & I'll be stuck with none. The cashier said they probably would be so I put them back in an attempt to avoid a broken heart.
Apparently it wasn't an issue today!! Lol
I went along with the "It's better to have loved & lost than never to have loved at all" approach. I'm sure I'll survive! ;-)
How cute are these? I couldn't resist!!

As I was waiting to pay, a sales girl approached me with a sample of "G" perfume because she saw I was wearing a Harajuku Lovers top. It was very sweet of her & I actually like it a lot too.
Today was clearly an aromatic day because when I paid I was given another perfume sample, this time of Escada's, Rockin' Rio. I got a bottle of this a few years back & used it start to finish over the course of one summer. It's such a sweet, exotic blend that really has an aura of an exotic, fabulous place!
It's a smaller bottle than my beloved Narciso Rodriguez's, For Her so it was gone rather quickly! I was so happy to see it again that it went on my list of things to pick up soon.
That's it for today, I'll be sure to review my Amazon goodies when they come in!
Keep it pretty!
