The Umbonia Spinosa, also knows as the Thorn Bug,is considered a pest in Southern Florida. It likes to live in ornamental and fruit trees, which it ends up destroying, especially during heavy infestations. This insect kills its host because it sucks the sap and also because it lays its eggs in the tree.
