Ulta, Sephora, and Drugstore Haul with First Impressions

By Kwilliford @ExquisiteEczema
It is finally Friday and I have a haul post for you today. Expect another one in the near future because there were a few things my Ulta didn't have just yet that I am very interested in getting.  But for now I have some great stuff to share and I have tried most of them so I can give you my initial thoughts.
First I want to talk about some Max Factor products. They have brought three products back to the U.S. after leaving 7 years ago. They have an eyeliner, mascara, and a lipstick available in two shades. The eyeliner is called the Master Precise Precision Liquid Eyeliner. I don't have a problem with the formula, but I HATE the applicator. It looks like a duck bill and it is anything but precise. I have to work three times as hard to get my liner to look right with this product. I do like the Master Precise Max Mascara, though. It really defines my lashes and it gives them nice length. It doesn't do too much in the volume department. I also like that it is not clumpy. The lipstick shade I got is called Simply Nude and it is an excellent nude lipstick for my skin tone. It doesn't stay on very long because of how creamy and hydrating it feels. I found them all at Walgreens.
The other drugstore product I got was Hard Candy's Big Fake Lashaholic Mascara, which is supposed to add extreme length and volume. It isn't as extreme as you would hope. I still like it, but it falls short of what you would expect for a false lash effect mascara. I've only used it once so far and I would like to see how it pairs with a lash primer.

I somehow managed to control myself at Sephora and only get two things: Kat Von D's Lock It Concealer Creme and Setting Powder. So far, I am very impressed with both. The concealer has full coverage, but I have noticed a teensy bit of creasing if it is not set right after application. The amazing thing about this concealer is the shade selection. There are 20 shades, so there is something for everyone. It is rare, and amazing, to see a concealer with such an extensive selection. Usually I go right for the lightest shade. This time I spent a good 10 minutes making sure I got the right shade, which is light 5 neutral. The powder is great, too. It is very soft and has a beautiful finish. I have only used these once, but I can tell I will like them.

Now for Ulta, which is where I did the most damage. I went there mainly to get another Urban Decay liner for my mom. She loves the shade Whiskey and has been through a few of them. The other thing I needed was the Ulta brand cotton pads. I have the Studio 35 ones from Walgreens, but they are pretty flimsy. Of course you cannot go to Ulta without looking around, and there were some new things I wanted to check out. I got two of the Tony Moly Bubble Mask Sheets, which is one my favorites. It is an activated charcoal mask, so it is fantastic for cleaning out your pores. The idea is similar to the Elizavecca Milky Piggy mask, but a lot less messy. I also went ahead and picked up the Maybelline Graffiti Nudes Palette, which is an Ulta exclusive. I have swatched a few shades and so far it seems a little "meh." But I kind of expected that. One product I was surprised by was Ulta's new Gel Bounce Eyeshadow Palette. These shades feel gel like and bouncy. The pigment was actually pretty good and I loved the look I got out of them. It is best to use your fingers with these, but I still need to play around with them more. The last thing I got was a blush palette by Makeup Revolution in the shade Blush Goddess. This caught my eye because you get a combination of 4 matte blushes and 4 highlighters. The texture is a bit dry, but so far I find that they look nice on the skin.

Oh, and when you spend $21.50 on the Ulta Beauty Collection, you get a free gift that consists of a bag, eyeshadow palette, lipstick, dual ended lip liner, dual ended eyeliner, full size mascara, brow gel, a travel size of their mineral setting powder, and a small kabuki brush.

There are still a few new things from Butter London that I would like get, but I want to see them in person before buying them.
What have you hauled recently?
