Turkish Football Weekly: Have Turkish Referees Struck Again?

By Simplyfutb01 @simplyjuan11

This week on Turkish Football Weekly:

  • Week 11 results of the Turkish Super League are reviewed.  This past weekend saw some games have some controversial calls and non-calls, and the guys debate these referee decisions.  Also, the schedule for week 12 is discussed.
  • The Turkish Cup group stages kicked off this past week.  The groups and results are given a rundown.
  • News this week concentrates on a few subjects.  The suspension of Fenerbahce’s Emre Belozoglu, and the appointment of Turkish national team assistant coach Hamza Hamzaoglu as Galatasaray’s new manager are the two major talking points of the week.
  • There’s also a brief discussion of European club play, in which the group stages are set to conclude this coming week.  With Galatasaray out of Europe with one game to play, the discussion concentrates on Trabzonspor and Besiktas’ Europa League campaigns.
  • As a tangential discussion concerning European play (or the future eligibility thereof), the subject of Bursaspor’s Ibrahim Ozturk being owed back pay and whether it would concern Bursaspor regarding their UEFA Financial Fair Play settlement is debated.
