Trey Anastasio: New Side Project "Ghosts of the Forest"

Posted on the 12 December 2018 by Hctf @hctf

Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio is a busy man, but he still has found the time to launch a new side project: Ghosts of the Forest. From Relix:

The new side project, also featuring Phish drummer Jon Fishman, trumpeter and vocalist Jennifer Hartswick, singer Celisse Henderson, Trey Anastasio Band bassist Tony Markellis and Trey Anastasio Band keyboardist Ray Paczkowski, will play six shows in April 2019 including dates in Portland, ME, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Albany, NY, Boston and two shows in New York City.
It seems that Ghosts of the Forest will serve as a creative counterpoint to the Trey Anastasio Band, which has been a consistent musical outlet for the Phish frontman for over two decades.
Like T.A.B., Ghosts of the Forest is said to feature all new music and recall Anastasio’s short-lived, theatrical 8 Foot Fluorescent Tubes project. A precursor to Trey Anastasio Band, 8 Foot Fluorescent Tubes featured Tom Lawson and Heloise Williams as well as future T.A.B. members Markellis and Russell Lawton. (Dave Grippo, James Harvey, Bobby Hackney and Fish also joined in for the one-off band’s second set.)

They will be on the road in April next year.

Live dates:
  • 04/04 Portland, ME – State Theatre
  • 04/05 Philadelphia, PA – The Met Opera
  • 04/06 Washington, DC – Anthem
  • 04/09 Albany, NY – Palace Theatre
  • 04/10 Boston, MA – Orpheum
