Traveling with Yves Rocher Hydra Vegetale

By Eula @omgaeula
Entries are few and far between because I'm at the hospital almost everyday (it's more fun than work, but it's tiring nonetheless) and I'm trying to cram seeing everyone during the weekends, before I return to the Philippines next month. Anyway this is another thing I brought with me on this trip: the Yves Rocher Hydra Vegetal 7-Day Program. It's really travel- and budget-friendly. ♥ This was thrown in with the Yves Rocher Moisture Boost Concentrate serum, which I've reviewed previously. With that purchase, I got a 7-day sample kit containing the Cleansing Milk, Toner, and Hydrating Gel Cream from the same line. These generous samples are great for travel, and last far more than 7 days.
It's a basic 3-step routine with a cleansing milk, toner, and moisturizer. This is a hydrating line targeted for normal and combination skin. It contains maple tree and blue agave saps that supposedly "lock in water."
The Cleansing Milk is decent, requiring the usual two passes with a cotton pad to get everything off. It's quite scented so that might perturb sensitive noses and sensitive skin. I prefer cleansing oils to milks so I gave this one away.
The Toner is nice, leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed but not tight. It also contains the mildly antibacterial witch hazel, which is a plus. I can't say anything more about toners. I've actually stopped using them, just to see how my skin does without them. (Pretty well so far.) But I would buy the full the size.
Same goes for the Gel Cream. It's gentle on my skin, helps calm down redness (probably due to the witch hazel), and in my experience doesn't react with serums from other brands. Full of fatty alcohols and plant extracts, it smells slightly herbal and cool, and is relaxing to apply at the end of the day. Absorbs pretty quickly, and provided enough hydration for me. I actually cut off the top of the tube to scrape out the last bits of moisturizer.
Here's a comparison of the Moisture Boost Concentrate with the Hydrating Gel Cream. The latter has a thicker consistency. In the Philippines, that amount was enough for my face. In the US, I used double.
All of these are scented, but I didn't mind. It's a clean sort of scent. No irritations developed on my end, either. It took me about a month to consume everything, but I was using exfoliating creams and face masks in between. Those with sensitive skin may want to do a patch test.
The Yves Rocher Hydra Vegetal line is an affordable, hydrating, non-irritating, skincare line available at all Yves Rocher branches.
