Travel Thursday Peloponnese (Epidavros and Korinthos)

By Fitnspicy @fitnspicy

On Wednesday morning we carefully packed up the car (5 people, with small suitcases, snacks, water and a few souvenirs do NOT fit in a teeny tiny car very well). We drove about 30 minutes from the villa where we stayed to check out the Ancient Theatre of Epidavros

A major benefit to being on Peloponnese in the off season was we had sights to ourselves. We got pictures with no one else in them!! That is so hard to do? Think about being in Paris, Madrid or Rome and trying to get a picture of just the monument. That just doesn’t happen. The only other thing in the theatre, a cute kitty. He/she followed us around and wanted attention and was even meowing as if giving a performance. Pretty amazing! The actual theater was designed in the 4th century b.c. It is truly amazing how this is still intact.

After enjoying the ruins to ourselves we started to head towards Athens. We knew we wanted one more stop in Korinthos, a cute port town. We stopped and walked around and headed to lunch at Marinos. Great food! We had souvlaki, spaghetti with roast chicken, feta with tomatoes, lamb chops and gyro meat.

Next up- Athens!

Where we went: Epidavros and Korinthos

Where we stayed: A villa rental through VRBO. It was 330 euros for 3 nights, split by 5. This was an amazing deal!

Getting around: A tiny rental car. At least it was Automatic. Scott and Ben did most of the driving through the crazy Greek roads. Winding mountainous roads.

Highlights: Having the ancient theater to ourselves!
