Top 10 Intricately Carved Ice Cubes

It wasn’t so long ago that people used to have normal shaped ice-cubes, but will all the unusual ice-cube trays and moulds these days people have shapes that often match the theme of their party. But what you are about to see wasn’t made in a silicon mould, they were all 3D printed ice-cubes…

10 – Mickey Mouse

I am not really sure what this is. Is it a smash robot from the 70’s or some sort of robot? Who knows, it looks clever and is a good one to start off with.

9 – Guitar

While I do give all respect and credit to the advertising agency who created these (TBWA) I am sure some of these could have been made a lot simpler with a mould, rather than having to resort to printing them out.

8 – Robocop Helmet

Sadly there is no real description on what some of these works of art are, so I have had to guess what they are. Also the images don;t really show just how delicate these sculptures are.

7 – Buddha statue

We are now starting to see some of the more detailed pieces. What might surprise you about these amazing ice sculptures is they are all made for a advertising campaign for Japanese whisky Suntory!

6 – Great Sphinx of Giza

There is a very odd mix of things they have decided to make. If I had to guess, they made whatever 3D models they could get their hands on, rather than choosing from a self-designed set.

5 – Scorpion

Advertising agency TBWA used a CNC router to carve the designs, which had to be chilled at -7 degrees Celsius to keep the ice from melting while they were being printed.

4 –Batman

Now we start to see what attracted me to them so much. There is a distinct lean towards nerdy sculptures like this Batman had and the rest of these works of art to come.

3 – Space Shuttle Challenger

After a while looking at these images you start to understand what they used this form of advertising. The chilled whiskey polishes the surface of the ice and gives a beautiful shine to all the sculptures creating both depth and colour.

2 – Godzilla

Even the king of monsters gets to have an ice-cube made after him. I would love to be served this in a monster themed restaurant.

1 – Super Mario

While it does have to be said that Mario looks slightly scary without eyes, there is still something…”playful” about him. But scary eyes aside, this was always going to be my all time favourite. I don;t even drink Whisky, but I would if I got to have one of these ice-sculptures in it!
