This is one of my favorite eyeshadow shades because it is so unique. Petals to the Metal is a metallic brown/blue with tiny pieces of glitter. When swatched, it has a brown base with a layer of blue shimmer and it almost has a reddish tint to it. When you first see it in the container, it just looks like a dark, shimmery blue, but that is not the case. Pictures do it no justice and is something needs to be seen in person. It is a pretty cool shade :) The quality of the eyeshadow is great, too. Even though it feels a bit gritty to me, it is still smooth and applies really well. The pigment is also great, which is true of all the Exotic Intense shadows. It blends easily and the staying power is good. It did not crease or fade much (it did fade a little). Despite the glitter, I experienced no fall out. It looks great as a sheer wash of color, or layered. Using the Too Faced Shadow Insurance makes it perform even better. I also like the simple packaging. The container is made of a black plastic that is in the shape of a flower. They included a small, clear circle so you can see the color. All in all, I would give this a 4.5/5. The slight grittiness is a little off putting for me, but it is not a big deal.
