Time for Predictions

The Grapefruit League is near an end and it's time to play ball. Let's hear your predictions for the 2014 season. Predict anything you like. I'll start, but warn you that last year at this time my prediction was that the Buccos would not spend even one day above .500 in 2013. Here goes:
- 87-75 as starting pitching falters.
- No playoffs, but in the hunt in September.
- Polanco is brought up in June. Challenges for Rookie of the Year, but is beaten out by someone from St. Louis, LA, whatever.
- Taillon is brought up, more out of need than readiness. Does not have a Gerrit Cole intro to the majors.
- 1st base dilemma is "solved" early thru trade, but is not a viable long term solution.
- In the end the Pirates 2014 season is doomed by their inactive winter and "value" approach to personnel decisions.
Your turn.
Pirates take a fairly large step back:
Liriano fights injuries all season not reproducing last year's results
Cole has a solid season assuming the title of ace
Morton also takes a step forward
Rodriguez pitches more games than most of us expect him to but is fairly medicore
Volquez doesn't completely fall apart but isn't all that useful
Locke does enough to earn himself a spot in the 2015 rotation
Cumtpon takes a step back and looks like a reliever
Taillon comes up in August and has a few sparkling outings but overall just an ok debut
McPherson rejoins the team in September and puts himself in position to compete for a 2015 spot
Irwin makes a couple decent spot starts
Sadler gets a cup of coffee later in the season
Grilli loses his closer job mid season
Melancon is solid but not nearly as good as last year
Pimentel inherits the closer's job by years end
Watson continues his solid ways
Wilson battles inconsistentcy
Morris is DFA'd
Mazzaro is traded before Opening Day
Gomez serves as a competent swing man once again
Thornton works his way on to the 40 man roster
Hughes finds his 2012 self
Welker improves his control and gets an inside track on a 2015 job
Jay Jackson gets a long look during the middle of the year
Adam Wilk turns into this year's Kris Johnson
Russell Martin's offense dips and he misses some time with injury
Tony Sanchez gets more playing time than expected and does well enough the Pirates are comfortable giving him the 2015 job
Stewart returns in May and is ineffective
Due to injuries Carlos Paulino makes his MLB debut
Lambo gets blocked by a 1B acquired before Opening Day but has a solid year in AAA
Sanchez's numbers against LHP slips but he shows improvement against RHP
Ike Davis is acquired and splits time with Sanchez at 1B doing just well enough to be brought back next year
McGuiness proves to be a non factor and is removed from the roster
Ishikawa serves as AAA depth but gets a call up mid season
Walker does what he does posting another solid season while losing some playing time to LHP
Harrison picks up the 2B starts against LHP and has one of the better seasons the Pirates have seen from a utility infielder in quite some time
Mercer's hitting falls off a bit but he shows improved defense
Barmes proves to be a useful backup SS
Alvarez sees a drop in his HR total and is not as effective
Morel gets some time in the majors but is ineffective
McCutchen has another great year but doesn't finish in the top 5 for NL MVP
Marte sees a drop in his OBP but remains relatively healthy and displays more power
Tabata struggles getting regular at bats but settles in as a fourth OF
Snider becomes a surprise and grabs the RF job
Polanco struggles in AAA and isn't brought up until July
Decker struggles in AAA and is never called up
Chris Dickerson surprisingly earns a call up
Pirates find themselves on the fringe of contention come the trade deadline and stand pat
The team finishes 84-78 only ever really being on the fringe of contention
They finish 7 games back of the 2nd wildcard making all the angst of the lack of off season activity irrelevant
