The Winters may not be cold in Mumbai but the SPIRIT is felt...The Spirit of the Winters...December is such magical month. Whatever we do, however we look...it all feels magical
The Winter Spirit theme is a silvery-taupe smokey eye with a lot of beauty and softness that depicts the makeup for the winter months (there are no rules). This is a perfect makeup for a dinner at your best friend's house, a birthday party and/or even for Christmas to celebrate the Holiday Spirit.
So lets see how to achieve this serene silver look....................
Prep the skin and prepare the base using Guerlain's Parure Aqua Radiant Foundation, Clinique All About Eyes concealer and Guerlain Les Violettes Loose Powder.
Conceal the under eyes and set with loose powder to create the perfect canvas.
Prime the lids with Too Faced Shadow Insurance eyeshadow primer.
Trace the upper lash line with Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof eye liner pencil in BLACK.
Apply Urban Decay Blackout eyeshadow on the outer third and blend.
From the Urban Decay Smoked Palette, apply a mixture of Backdoor and Barlust eyeshadow in the crease and soften the Blackout and any harsh edges.
Highlight the brow bone with Urban Decay eyeshadow in Sin from the Naked 2 palette.
To create a stronger crease, darken the actual crease with Backdoor eyeshadow using a fluffy dome brush and moving the brush in windshield wiper motion.
Smoke out Mushroom eyeshadow on the bottom lids. This color is super bright and shimmery and thus its good to apply on the lower lids first to gauge its brightness.
Now with a flat eyeshadow brush apply Mushroom eyeshadow on the center of the upper lid and blend. if applied with finger, the shimmer from the Mushroom eyeshadow translates in a better manner.
Between the Mushroom eyeshadow and the Blackout eyeshadow, apply Barlust to blend the edges et al.
With a damp brush, apply the Ivory shade from the YSL Pure Chromatics Eyeshadow Palette no.04. This helps brighten and illuminate the eye even more.
Curl the lashes and apply lashings of YSL Faux Cils mascara to finish the look.
To add warmth to face, I chose Chanel Joues Contraste Blush in Frivole. Its just a perfect blush. Highlights with Guerlain's Cruel Gardenia. For Lips, its good to choose a lighter color in the dolled down version like Clinique High Impact Lipstick in Nude Beach or MAC Taupe. For the dolled up version, vampy shades like Guerlain's Rouge G in Gigolo, Chanel Rouge Coco in Rouge Noir or Tom Ford's Orchid lipstick look amazing, only if coordinated with a mauve toned blush like Clinique Fresh Bloom All Over color in Plum Poppy Blend. Even a red especially an orange toned one looks fabulous.
Hope you liked the look. Do let me know in the comments.
Till then,
Ciao
