I'm not including the last polish from last week, but I did wear it for a day or two before changing to this first polish of the week. It is Zoya's Tru (2 coats). I really love this color. It's a deep warm purple with subtle flecks of an almost iridescent copper. It's really beautiful and I doubt the photos pick up its beauty too well. I decided to do an accent nail, which became a theme this week. I had picked up the Nails Inc. Electric Lane Holographic Top Coat at Sephora a few weeks ago and I really wanted to try it out. I love holographic polishes, so I was hoping this would create a similar effect. It kind of did. It's more of a really densely packed holographic glitter than a way to transform any polish into a holographic polish. It has a very similar effect though, and I liked the way it looked (I used 1 coat). As with anything holographic, I found myself constantly staring at my nails. I probably wouldn't pair it with Zoya's Tru again though, because it detracted from the subtle beauty of Tru with it's beautiful flakes.

Next, I had ordered Fragile from Illamasqua, which is one of the new speckle polishes from their I'mPerfection Collection. It's a Robin's egg blue with black speckles in it and I love it! It really looks like little bird eggs sitting on your nails. If you added a matte top coat, it would look exactly like a hand full of blue Cadbury Mini Eggs! I wasn't sure how I would like this polish, but it is a really cool and unusual polish. It was actually pretty easy to work with and not like most jelly-polishes (I wouldn't say this is a jelly polish, but it gives a similar layered glitter effect). It is not at all sheer, but it was a bit watery. It took 3 coats, but they were rather thin coats because of the thin consistency of the polish. In the end, it had a nice layered, multi-sized speckle effect that is really cool and I love it! As a side note, I really like the Illamasqua bottle and this formula was incredible! Highly chip resistant. I've never tried another Illamasqua polish before, but now I'm quite curious about them. But, yeah, I really love this polish! :)
Finally, I found another product I'd never tried, so this was the week of testing new stuff I guess! I found some LA Splash Nail Art Glitters and picked one up in Golden Egg. These are simply loose glitters that you dip a nail with wet polish into, and you end up with a super sparkly glittery nail! Another effect I really like lately! :) It was pretty easy to do and didn't create too much of a mess. I just dipped my wet nail into the pot of glitter and waited for it to dry. Once it had dried (not very long), I brushed the excess glitter off of my finger with a soft paint brush and the glitter only stuck to where the polish was. As with all glitter, there were some bits here and there scattered around where I paint my nails, but it was no where near as much as I expected. So far, it seems to be lasting quite well too! I topped it with 2 coats of Julep's new Freedom Polymer Top Coat, which I also love! In fact, all of these polishes have 1 coat of this top coat over them (with 2 coats over the loose glitter). The color on the rest of my nails is 2 coats of Zoya's Malia which is a warm mid-tone purple cream and, shocking, I love it too! :)

So there you have my nails this week. I actually hated to change it, but I also get bored with the same color all the time. And it was fun to try new things!!! :)
What was on your nails this week? I'd love to know!!! :)
