The Week in Kitten - 10 February 2013

By Makeupguineapig @MakeUpGuineaPig

Well, it’s Sunday again which means it’s time for The Week in Kitten! I must say there isn’t really much to report this week, but I’ll do my best.

Bailey’s eye seems to be better. It waters once in a while, but I’m guessing that’s going to be normal for her. It does seem to get really red again as soon as I stop her topical antibiotic. I need to talk to the vet about that, but I’ve kind of held off since she’s due for another booster shot this coming week. In the meantime, I’ve just continued with the topical eye drops and she’s been doing fine. Hopefully that’s ok. :/

She’s eating like a champ and definitely has grown a fair amount since she first arrived. She has become an expert at jumping and can now get up on beds with no trouble – and no claws! J She loves to chew on the strings from my hoodies. I tend to wear one around the house to stay extra warm and Bailey likes to come over and curl up next to me while I’m using the computer (I tend to kind of hunch over it while sitting in bed) and she just watches the strings until the time is right to attack! J I put my hair in a braid yesterday and she did the same thing with my braid! J

She does plenty of sleeping, but she’s still playful as well. It’s so nice to see a cat that remembers how to play! J I know she’ll outgrow it, but for now it’s wonderful. This week she managed to play with Chloe for a bit. Chloe hates everything. More accurately, I think she’s scared of everything. But the two of them will run back and forth chasing one another and it’s so nice to see Chloe with a friend of sorts. She’s not terribly nice to the other cats, so they tend to pick on her. She ends up being the odd man out. Since she’s the only cat other than Bailey who is not related by blood, she really was the odd man out before Bailey! So it’s wonderful that she seems willing to play with Bailey and Bailey is absolutely thrilled to have a cat that will play with her as well! J

So precious!!!

Bailey has also been playing with Barclay a bit again this week, which is also wonderful! Barclay is so desperate for anyone to play with and he just loves Bailey! The two still haven’t quite figured out each other’s methods of playing, but they find a way to run around and have fun despite the confusion. J Barclay tends to get right in Bailey’s face and kind of jump around. She just sits there looking completely baffled. J He’ll also take off running in no particular direction and go until he runs out of breath. Bailey prefers to study his every move carefully and then when he’s completely ignoring her, she pounces. Very cat-like, no? J This starts Barclay’s play routine all over again and she just sits there staring until he gives up. Then it’s time to pounce! It’s rather entertaining to watch the two of them, so that’s been great. J

Much to my surprise, Mini has been either playing or fighting with Bailey a far amount as well. I think Mini tends to jump on Bailey and Bailey instantly rolls over and kicks with her back feet. They appear to be having a good time, but it’s sometime difficult to tell! J It’s funny that Bailey typically rolls over and kicks Mini because Mini’s sister, Emerson, plays with Mini the exact same way! J

Mini & Bailey

I think that pretty much does it for this past week in Bailey land!!! J As always, I hope it puts a smile on your face J

Loving her new caterpillar!
