It’s been pretty uneventful around here this past week, but Bailey is still adorable! J She appears to be about 3.4lbs which is not really an increase from last week, but I can’t say that I trust my scale as much as the vet’s scale from last week. The other cats are accepting her more and more, though none of them are terribly excited about her. The best with her so far seems to be Chloe, who hates all of the other cats, so that’s kind of nice. They’ll chase each other a little bit, but not too often.

In cat tree news, they’re all learning to accept it and they sleep I usually see at least one of them somewhere in it. Thank goodness! I was starting to worry that it had been a complete waste of money and what do you do with an unused giant cat tree? J I don’t know that they’re using it for scratching at all, which is troubling. I hear clawing on my furniture from time to time and I’m not happy about that!
Bailey’s week started out with me stepping on her head. Poor little girl. I was really concerned about her, but she seems to be just fine. She ran under my feet as kittens do, and I just couldn’t avoid her in time. But all is well. About mid-week, she managed to fall in the toilet too! J She’s surprisingly water-resistant! She recovered from that as well and is still fascinated by the toilet. I think she’s trying to figure out how to drink from it, but just hasn’t mastered it yet.
In health news, she hasn’t needed a trip to the vet yet this week, so that’s great! Unfortunately her eye is looking red again and it’s getting watery as well. She was getting drops the majority of the past week which seemed to clear up whatever the problem is, but now that I stopped the drops, the problem has returned…again. Grrr! She’s still sneezing a bit and has these really long sneezing fits every once in a while. It will literally be about 10-15 sneezes in a row! I think next week may require a vet visit. L Certainly a call, if nothing more. In positive health news, I discovered I no longer have to force her vitamins down her throat! J The vet seemed to think the chances of her just eating them (it’s kind of a jelly-paste) was unlikely, so I have been using a little syringe-like thing to force them into her mouth. She finally learned how to move her head just in time to get the goo all over her fur, but had no problem with cleaning it off. Eventually I just decided to try putting it directly into her dish and, lo and behold, she ate it! So good news there at least!
Super bendy cat!
She’s discovered the hole in the comforter that I use for extra warmth. She’s found she can climb right in it and “hide.” It’s adorable, but I do worry a bit about her trying to eat the filler inside the blanket. So far it hasn’t been a problem. This morning she was all curled up inside the comforter, completely covered, and it was really cute. Well, I think everything she does is cute! JShe discovered a love for steak last night! My father had a lot of leftover steak, so he shared with the kitties. I didn’t give any to Bailey, but someone else didn’t want theirs and she raced in to gobble it up. I had no idea she would be able to chew it, but she got it down (it was cut up pretty small, but still, it’s steak!). I think she had a new love! J
Moxie's tail does not taste like steak!
As for poor Mr. Barclay, he’s been pretty much left out in the cold this week. Bailey wants to spend pretty much all of her time around the other cats, leaving Barclay sulking by himself. Poor puppy! They essentially live in separate areas of the house, which doesn’t help, but Bailey just kind of looks and Barclay and proceeds back to wherever the other cats are currently hiding. They still get along just fine, Bailey just has little interest in him. Barclay needs another puppy! Sadly for him, that’s not gonna happen any time soon! JBarclay could also use a bath! :)
That’s essentially been this week in Bailey’s little world. Not too eventful, but that’s not always a bad thing! J She seems happy and settled which is all that really matters. JMini - who's actually quite skinny, but doesn't look it here! -
and little Bailey!
Hope this put a smile on your face for the week!!!
