The Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence 3100 Mile Race 2024

The runners have been announced who will be participating in the 28th Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence 3100 Mile Race around a sports field, playground, and high school in Jamaica, Queens, New York City. The race was founded in 1996 by Sri Chinmoy as the Self-Transcendence 2700 mile race and he extended at at the awards ceremony that year and it has taken place every year since 1997 apart from 2020, when the race took place in Salzburg, Austria.

This, the Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence 3100 Mile Race, is the longest annual footrace in the world and requires the runners to complete the 3100 miles in 52 days, an average of 59.6 miles (95.9 km), per day. The runners begin at 6 a.m. and run throughout the day until 12 midnight when the course closes for the night.

Four previous winners of the race return in the men's field with Andrea Marcato (ITA) having won the last 4 editions of the event, race record holder Ashprihanal Aalto (FIN), Grahak Cunningham (AUS) and Vasu Duzhiy (RUS). Radu Budan (MDA) makes his debut at the event as does Australian women's champion, Annabel Hepworth who joins Nina Huang-Lan Yang who unfortunately developed an injury last year with 10 days to go.
