When Kiss nails contacted me about their new "Gel Dress" wraps, I was instantly intrigued. Nail wraps you can do at home and use a little gel polish and last for a few seconds will give you a manicure that will last up to two weeks? That'll do nicely!
Here are my thoughts on the Kiss Gel Dress nail wraps.
Application
These are like normal nail wraps, you find the right size for your nail, and stick them on your nail and file away any excess. HOWEVER, you also get 20 additional strips that you can decorate your strips with. You then add a coat of the kiss gel polish and whack your fingers under a gel lamp for a few seconds. Once that's done, use the finishing wipe provided to get rid of any excess sticky gel and you're good to go.
The Faff
I found application a bit of a faff to be honest. Adding the extra detailing was great but quite fiddly to put on because of the stickyness. In terms of drying the nails in the gel lamp thing, I found it strangely painful to begin with and I also found I used it longer than recommended to ensure my nails were properly dried because they felt so tacky - After using the finishing wipe they were much better.
The Result Gorgeous! I loved how shiny my nails looked and they felt really strong and well protected as well. I found myself picking at the edges as always with nail wraps but that's just a personal thing. The faff with the extra wraps was worth it because the end result was a unique and personal manicure. I loved it. My manicure lasted 6 days which wasn't so great but that's because I constantly pick at the edges. I think if I had left this it would have lasted longer.
All in all, I would be open to trying these again, but I'm not sure I would go back to them time and time again. They were a wee bit of a faff for what they were but still, I liked the finished result.
Have you tried these?
