When the weather gets warmer, and the temperatures start to climb, especially here in California, during the summer months, we usually find it particularly difficult to rock a pair of jeans.
I rarely wear jeans during those ‘3 months’ of summer, because it is too hot outside, and I don’t really want to spend my day walking around in sweaty, sticky pants if you will.
So, with that being said, here are some of my personal favorite tips on how to find that perfect pair of jeans for summer.
1. Buy Light Washed
Dark washed jeans tend to attract the sun more, and become more prone to attracting heat. Go with a light colored pair of jeans.
2. Wear Breathable Jeans
Back in Ohio, denim with frayed holes, and breathable pockets are all the rage, where as in L.A, this is not so much the case. When I wear jeans, I like to have breathable pockets, so my jeans don’t end up sticking solely to my legs.
3. Rock The Loose Fit
I’m not saying that ‘baggy jeans’ are the way to go. The tighter the jeans, the hotter you’ll be. You want to wear a pair of jeans in the hot weather that are ‘average’ if you will, not too tight, and not so baggy.
4. Low Rise All The Way
I am not a high waisted jeans fan of any sort. I think they are extremely uncomfortable, and they can sometimes make your back end look not so flattering. Low rise jeans are your best choice for those hot summer months, leaving you with more room and space.
5. Loose Around The Ankles
The most comfortable denim is not ‘skinny jeans’. For warmer weather, you want to wear denim that is loose around the ankles, allowing you to move your ankles, and not just stiffness.
