I was checking out the organic beauty section of my local
grocery store the other day look for a new hand cream. I occasionally use the
Soap & Glory Hand Food, but it
does
leave my hands a tiny bit greasier than I would like. So, hoping for a nice,
more natural version, I was drawn to the Nubian Heritage creams. They seemed to
have a ton of variations! (I am not certain how many they actually make, just
that my store carries about 8 different hand creams.) I initially chose the
Mango Butter version and I could not be happier! I was so happy with the hand
cream, I had to try them
all!!! (I
only have 6 because the 7
th is proving a bit elusive and the 8
th
has lavender which I despise…weird, I know.)
The Mango Butter Hand Cream is a wonderfully thick
consistency that might initially seem like it would be too heavy or greasy. Not
at all! It sinks in beautifully and almost immediately! My hands felt instantly
softer and looked so much younger. I was very pleasantly surprised. The smell
is not too strong and it is not unpleasant or too girly (it smells mostly like
citrus), nor does it seem to overpower other scents. The most impressive aspect
of this cream was the almost complete lack of greasiness left behind! I have
come to expect that using a hand cream of
any
variety means that my hands will have some sort of slimy residue lingering
behind until I touch something and it wipes off onto whatever I’m touching. Not
so with the Mango Butter Hand Cream from Nubian Heritage. Literally within
seconds of rubbing the cream into my hands, I feel absolutely no trace of a
residue remaining. Initially, it made me wonder how hydrating the cream would
be, but after about a week or two of using the Mango Butter Hand Cream, and
occasionally various other Nubian Heritage Hand Creams, my hands are soooo much
softer, more supple, smoother and definitely more moisturized! I am not only in
love, I think I am addicted!!!
I was so impressed by the Mango Butter Hand Cream that I
decided to try every type of Hand Cream that I could find from Nubian Heritage.
I cannot seem to find the Coconut & Pineapple Hand Lotion (of course they
had it when I first bought the Mango Butter version), but I have the Body
Lotion and it smells
amazing! By far
my favorite of the scents. The other versions of Nubian Heritage Hand Cream that I have are: Olive & Green Tea (anti-aging ultra-moisturizing & nourishing),
Indian Hemp & Haitian Vetiver (anti-inflammatory, moisturizing &
healing), African Black Soap (acne-fighting, detoxifying & healing), Honey
& Black Seed (anti-blemish, soothing & healing) and Raw Shea Butter
(healing, hydrating & protecting). All of them are amazing and they all
smell wonderful. The scents seem stronger with these other hand creams, but
they are all pleasant and there is bound to be a scent for everyone. Though I do
notice very subtle differences between each formula, I cannot say I notice much
difference from one to the next. The ingredients
are different, but the results are much the same –
AMAZING! If you can find these hand
creams, do your hands a favor and BUY ONE!!! If you cannot find them, DEMAND
them!
