The Golf Book

By Eatsleepgolf @eatsleepgolf

The sport of golf is measured in centuries, yet the past two decades have marked the most compelling transformation of the game.  To celebrate twenty years of Golf Channel's twenty-four hour coverage, author Chris Millard and some of Golf Channel's favorite on-air personalities recount the best stories of the era in The Golf Book: 20 Years of the Players, Shots, and Moments That Changed the Game.
Featuring a foreword by golf legend Arnold Palmer, The Golf Book is filled with stories from top players, colorful insights from on-air talent and celebrity viewers, essential lists and sidebars, and stunning photographs of legendary golf courses around the world.  It also reveals the unlikely circumstances, as well as a story of twists and turns that ultimately launched sports' first niche television network, which has become the favorite destination for golfers around the world.  In the twentry years since founders Arnold Palmer and cable entrepreneur Joe Gibbs launched Golf Channel, the network has emerged as the authoritative voice of the game.
In The Golf Book, readers can relive the greatest major championships, the top shots, and some of the moments that players wish never happened.  Among them Payne Stewart's last and greatest victory at the U.S. Open, Tiger Woods' masterful chip at the 2005 Masters, the U.S. vs Europe duels at the Ryder Cup, and Jean Van de Velde's epic meltdown in the Barry Burn.
The Golf Book is a lavishly illustrated account of those momentous twenty years.  The book also looks ahead to the future of the sport, from the return of minimalism in golf-course design, to the rise of the sport in Asia, and to golf's inclusion in the 2016 Olympics.  The Golf Book is the ultimate, must-have gift book for anyone who loves the sport of golf.
